Turn That Frown Upside Downward Dog With Meow Tour's Cairo Yoga Class

Meow Tours is all about taking human beings (such as ourselves) on walking tours across Cairo so that they can better acquaint themselves with the stray cats and dogs that they share the city with, giving us a chance to pet and feed these oft-overlooked creatures of the city. On Friday 12th, however, before they take us on another one of their tours, they'll lead us up Downtown Cairo's recently restored Consoleya building - once the home of the French Consulate, now a bustling coworking space - to do something a little different. Specifically, yoga.

Led by yogi Isabella, a 500-hour certified instructor from India, 'Yoga For Animals' will teach you all about Hatha Yoga - breathing techniques, sun salutations, mantra chanting, all that good stuff. But as the name suggests, this session is really about our furry compatriots. You don't have to pay any money to attend this session, but if you have some cash to spare, all your donations will go to Meow Tours and their friends at Pets Garden Rescue Shelter, a local non-profit charity that looks after more than 200 animals. That's about 200 sweet, adorable, probably slobbery creatures who would be grateful for your help. That's a lot of gratitude.

You can register for the session through Meow Tour's Facebook page. Spots are on a first come first served basis, so make sure you sign up early and bring your own mat.
