Trampolines, Food Park, and Museum of Illusions: Gear Up for Cairo’s Newest High Street Destination

Cairo’s newest high-street pedestrian experience has set foot in Sheikh Zayed and is set to officially launch in Fall of 2020. The Walk of Cairo takes advantage of Egypt’s all-year round exceptional weather to bring a new outdoor retail-entertainment-dining experience along a pedestrian walkway with a combined length of 2km. The award-winning layout, created by Chicago-based architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, merges nature and human design ingeniously by creating a changing atmosphere as daytime passes into night.

The highly-anticipated Walk of Cairo will be introducing the global franchise, the Museum of Illusions to Egypt for the very first time, bringing a highly entertaining new experience that challenges our perceptions. Having started as a quirky project in 2015 in Croatia, it has become one of the world's fastest growing edutainment attractions. The museum offers an interactive experience for people of all ages through its spectacular installations that defy the physics of perception and illusion.

Beyond the museum, WOC as a whole is set to be a hub of engaging activities, like the Box Park, which includes a grand outdoor amphitheater, a street-food container park and the largest outdoor super-trampoline park in Egypt. In addition to unplugged concerts, children's storytelling events and even pop-up art exhibitions, there will be midweek workshops and classes for both adults and kids held at the amphitheater. The iconic El Sawy Culture Wheel will facilitate these workshops, hosting classes on everything from painting and pottery, to photography and writing.

That’s not all, though. #WalkofCairo will also house large installations like the King-Kong light attraction, the famous mind-bending illusion pool, a peacock sanctuary, a parrot aviary and much more. We're ready, so #LetsWalk.
