'The Clutter Queens' Keep Your Space Spick & Span

Few things are as comforting, chic, and relaxing as prancing around your house while everything is tidied, colour-coded, and crisply organised. Whether that sounds like science-fiction to you, or if spring cleaning is a pillar of your identity, you’re going to want to keep reading into what the spruce-up-scientists at Clutter Queens are getting up to.

For founder Amina ElDib, her home is her ultimate happy place. “My friends and family have always thought of me as a little crazy; I love walking about their houses and tidying up their kitchens or dressing rooms,” ElDib tells #CairoScene. “I really and truly believe in ‘clean house, clear mind’. It actually makes a world of a difference in your mental state to look around and see a tidy, neat atmosphere. In a way, it makes you love and appreciate your stuff even more”.

Prior to her move to Cairo, ElDib ran a wedding planning business alongside her husband in Alexandria.

“I was sitting at home one day, watching the Home Edit on Netflix, and then I thought to myself ‘Why aren’t we doing this in Egypt?’ People hoard here, especially lately with staying home and quarantining,” ElDib says. “They’re obsessed with their stuff and simply don’t want to throw things away; they don’t know that they can’t actually use their stuff that they love so much when it’s all messy and hidden away under so much clutter. That's when I made my decision and went with it.”

With the formation of Clutter Queens, ElDib worked with her cousins Heba and Passant ElBayoumi to organise, sort, and declutter people’s spaces as a service. In other words, they’ve been doing what you’ve been shamefully putting off for months now. They care about every corner of the project you assign them, finding the perfect place for every piece you own, down to fitting everything into any and every size container and divider you need.
