North Coast Receives Mobile Civil Service Centres Until End of Summer

Imagine you’re partying at Sahel and then, oops, you lose your ID. Fun time’s over isn’t it darling? Before, you’d have to drive all the way to that one, tiny government office in the North Coast along with everyone else crowding up the place. But now, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has deployed three mobile civil registry centres in New Alamein City and the North Coast, so you can access their portable civil services at your convenience.

These mobile service cars will be available throughout August and September, with one dedicated to providing real estate and documentation services, one tasked with issuing on-the-spot national ID cards and one providing services for the issuance of civil status certificates. Throughout the week, you can catch the cars in front of the Tourist Villages Authority at Marina 4, Al-Massa Square and at the headquarters of the local unit of Sidi Abdel Rahman.

This new project is geared at reducing congestion at the offices where these services are provided and streamlining the transactions overall. This initiative is part of the country’s shift towards digitization within the framework of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The mobile technology centre project began with 32 cars for the Ministry of Local Development, 20 for the Ministry of Justice and 10 for the Ministry of Interior. The plan is to have 120 centres up and running during the 2021/2022 fiscal year.
