Minya Opens Its First Mental Health Unit for Adolescents

Upper Egypt received its first mental health unit for adolescents at Minya Hospital for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, a department which will provide psychiatric services for young adults while they’re at a critical stage of their mental development.

This development comes as the Ministry of Health and Population dedicates the year to intensifying its awareness campaign in order to reduce the stigma around mental health disorders, and prompt an open discussion about them so that people can be encouraged to seek treatment.
