Ministry of Health Launches WhatsApp ChatBot for COVID-19 Vaccine

We’re tired of arguing with family group chats who insist that the COVID-19 vaccine will implant Bill Gates’ 5G microchips in our brains, and while we wouldn’t necessarily mind turning into cyborgs with super-fast internet speeds, we have to wonder: is there a force more powerful than a WhatsApp-auntie conspiracy theory?

The Ministry of Health and Population is summoning its own warrior into the information battlefield. Their WhatsApp ChatBot is responding to inquiries about the vaccines as Egypt widens their campaign to safeguard the population against the Coronavirus pandemic.

The ChatBot is designed to provide a range of services, such as providing information about the time, date, and location of your vaccination appointment, so you don’t have to worry that you’ve been ghosted by health services.

For those who have had their first or second jabs and are experiencing any side-effects, the ChatBot will automatically connect them with medical teams that can follow up and respond appropriately.

This’ll be the second ChatBot that the Ministry of Health has launched, after ‘Nameesa’ was released in April 2020 to answer questions about the virus and how to protect yourself from it. Let’s hope this one gets an equally endearing name.
