Here’s What We Know About this Secret Society

This secret society gathers from the shadows of mundanity to bring out that inner child crying inside all of us, whose creativity has been stifled time and time again as we grew up.

If you’re anything like us, you probably keep stumbling upon this elusive secret society on social media, but maybe you in particular haven’t got a clue what it is. We, on the other hand, happen to know a thing or two. Off the bat, we know that it’s a one-of-a-kind experiential project and the first of its kind in the region; one that hopes to dominate the play platform.

It’s a not-so-new secret society that gathers from the shadows of mundanity to bring out that inner child crying inside all of us, whose creativity has been stifled time and time again as we grew up. Coming together to play, each one of Society of Play’s playdates aims to nurture that little bit of wonder in each and every one of them.

Just like walking onto a playground when you were younger, Society of Play creates a safe space that lets you meet new people for the first time, sit down with them, and play. Born out of the need to steer away from the hangouts we’ve grown tired of, these playdates break the barrier in a way that encourages you to be, do, and feel. Each playdate adopts a different approach, and you never know what experience you’re going to get - that’s kind of the point.

The project started about three years ago between a group of friends that felt like they had a lot of pent up creative energy they didn’t know how to channel, and grew tired of traditional outings that relied on consumption. Society of Play was birthed, and before long it grew into a small community of 300 people. Now that community is going to expand to the public, although of course its inner workings will remain elusive as ever since each playdate’s theme will remain secret.

They’re going to be opening up the experiential project quite soon, but for more details you’ll have to follow @wearesocietyofplay and stay tuned to updates. In the meantime, we’ll try and get you a sneak peek. Play nice, kids.
