#FindingKhufu: A Great Pyramid Adventure

On October 25th, 2015 a group of scientists and researchers under the authority of the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, missioned it to the Pyramids equipped with Radiographic muons, aka cosmic particles, infrared thermography, photogrammetry, scanners, and 3D reconstruction in order to remotely excavate The Great Pyramid of Giza, Khufu. This was the ScanPyramids project and the aim was to discover hidden chambers and tombs that may have been burying treasures unlike the world has ever seen. On November 9th it was unveiled that they found three thermal anomolies confirming suspicions that there is, in fact, a hidden chamber in King Tut’s tomb.

On December 15th - in the hopes of finding The Great Pyramid's treasure before anyone else - our intrepid explorer Timmy Mowafi and Egyptologist Emil Diephuis missioned it to the Mena House Hotel equipped with a torch.

They hoped to check in before getting to Khufu for their great Pyramid adventure. Leaving the Mena House though, proved more difficult than first expected...

Explorers @TimmyMowafi and @EmilinEgypt have always dreamt of #FindingKhufu. After hearing about the exciting #ScanPyramids project, they started their journey at none other than our historic property. For days they kept planning to head to the Great Pyramid to start the excavation, but alas they could never bring themselves to leave. Watch them as they discover our beautiful Palace instead.
