Fashion Funds - Cairo's Ultimate Style Event

If you've ever been to a Fashion Garage event, you'll know that founder Heba Serag ElDin is serious about style. The uber fashionista and yummy mummy has been putting her fashionable fingerprints on Cairo's sartorial scene for years now, and Fashion Funds - the events segment of the Fashion Garage umbrella - is about to show Egypt how to throw a true celebration of style. Taking over the massive Eat & Barrel this Saturday 7th March, Fashion Funds will see scores of local and international brands get together under the sun for an all-day event, jam-packed with this season's hottest looks, great gifts (Mother's Day is just around the corner!), beauty products, style tips and, of course, the city's style set out in full force. While Eat & Barrel provide the food and drinks, designed to match the fashion on display, Fashion Garage will ply you with more style than you can handle, with over 50 brands and designers all ready to engage you with their latest collections. A percetange of all proceeds will be going to the The Right To Live Association of Cairo which helps out Egyptians living with disabilities.

Heba Serag ElDin assures us that this is a one-of-a-kind event as we meet at Eat & Barrel where her and her team are putting the final touches together, finalising the menu and arranging the layout. "This is nothing like the previous edition," she says excitedly. "This venue and the way the fashion and beauty scene has developed over the last year or so make this our biggest event yet." And it's not just about shopping until you can't shop no more. No, Fashion Funds is an experience. From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted with your choice of a virgin or alcoholic special Pink Lady cocktail, designed especially for the event. Next, you'll get to browse the 50+ brands in attendance, from local up and comers like Zaam, Okhtein, Sherwal and Teela Designs (by uber-blogger @SatishfashionBySN, Noha ElSherbiny), to established local boutiques like Villa Baboushka, 69 and The Dressing Room showcasing their designer collections, to international names like the cult phenomenon that is Temple Tramp from London, Paris' Hipanema and Three Fifty Nine from Dubai, there's certainly something for every aesthetic. "But it doesn't stop there. We want visitors to spend the whole day here, getting spoiled and pampered and indulging themselves. That's why we've got The Make Up Studio doing free consultations and LCN making sure everyone gets some nail art," says Serag ElDin.

With Marc Wahba on the decks all day, expect chilled out beats underlining every fashionable moment, while photographer Nouran Khalifa will be snapping stylish moments in a special photobooth before putting all the photos together for one massive Fashion Funds collage. Actor/filmmaker/director and all round super cool guy Ashraf Hamdi will be MCing the event, while super stylist Sarah Abouel Ela will be using some very familiar faces as models for a pop up trunk show featuring morning, noon and night looks for every style. Hair and make up for these models will be by the one and only Al Sagheer Salons so you're sure to see some new and exciting beauty looks. With plenty of celebrities in attendance and loads of special offers, giveaways and things to do, this is slated to be the biggest and best fashion events on the Cairo calendar… and we would know!
