RiseUp Summit Kicks Off in December With Special Gigs For Creatives

After cooking up the coolest entrepreneurial gigs and startup journeys –literally - throughout the year, the restless team behind RiseUp has just revealed the dates for this year’s entrepreneurship summit, kick-starting on December 9^th and running for an entire three-day marathon of events at Cairo’s downtown hub – The GrEEK Campus.

With a stronger focus on African startups and a special emphasis on the links between tech, business, and creativity – read: how artsy hipsters and boho musicians can make a business of their art - the summit this year is titled Fusion. “We have been working with ecosystems in Africa and the region to unlock growth, and this year we are bringing three days of ‘Fusion’ to the ecosystem that will result in introducing new markets and the growth of current markets, which will create additional opportunities for economic development,” said RiseUp’s CEO Abdelhameed Sharara.

The Summit, which brought 4,366 attendees and 240 international speakers to downtown Cairo last year, is expected to host over 5,000 entrepreneurship enthusiasts, tech geeks, business experts, and young creatives this year for a full-on marathon of workshops, inspiring talks, pitch competitions, and networking platforms with industry experts. Among their coolest initiatives, there will be City Caravans to give entrepreneurs and startup founders from across the world a personalised immersion into Egypt’s booming startup ecosystem.

RiseUp Summit 2015 brought 4,366 people together.

The main focus this year will be set on Creative Industries, FinTech, CleanTech, Science and Tech Innovation – seeking to fuse knowhow, funding, media exposure, talent, tools and perks, and marketplace for entrepreneurs from all over the world.
