'Disconnected' proves that fashion isn't only art - it's philosophy, too.

Egyptian Designer Dina Shaker’s New SS19 Collection Invites Women to ‘Disconnect’

Synonymous with instilling its designs with some rather reflective  philosophies, Egyptian fashion brand, Dina Shaker, has just released new SS19 collection, ‘Disconnected’, which takes the classic and adds a spin to it.

Preaching the mantra of ‘the more plugged in and connected to devices , the more we get unplugged and disconnected to ourselves’, the collection plays with loose and light layers that invite you to look closer beyond what might on first sight seem simple pieces.

Imbuing a freedom into the collection, the concept insists that, now more than ever, a modern woman should be ‘connected to her true self’, to be one with her solitude, and to embrace the stillness; to ‘seek eye contact during conversations, have long walks and enjoy looking to the trees, flowers and the sky. To become disconnected.”

What this all makes for is a versatile collection that includes deconstructed sleeveless denim blazers, wide-legged linen trousers, masculine shirts with feminine twists and ruffled shirt-dresses – the kind that dance in a cool spring breeze. Disconnected can be found at Maison69 Store, RAX and Coterique.

Check out more of the collection on the Dina Shaker Instagram.
