Uniqlo Launches Stylish ‘Hijab’ Collection
The internationally acclaimed Japanese casual wear brand launches its ‘modest wear’ collection which includes a range of head scarfs.
Much to the delight of veiled women around the world or simply those who wish to be stylish whilst still remaining modestly dressed, Uniqlo, renowned for its super comfy yet high-tech casual wear, has launched its ‘modest wear’ collection with pretty loose blouses, 3abayas, long colourful dresses, loose fitted high waist pants and a collection of hijabs.
Uniqlo teamed up with UK based fashion designer Hana Tajima to conjure the collection. "We worked with Hana to determine what would be internationally appealing while keeping to the concept of modest wear. We are thrilled with the results of this unique collaboration which produced a desirable collection that does not sacrifice style for utmost comfort,” says chief executive of Uniqlo Singapore, Taku Morikawa.
The British fashion blogger converted to Islam at the age of 17, and went on to start her own label which specialises in fashion forward items that cater to the Muslim woman. “We want to create a collection that not only appeals to modern ladies who prefer to dress modestly, but also an international audience who desire clothes that fit comfortably and look contemporary. My collection is specially designed to allow effortless mix and match for today’s women to express their own style,” says Tajima The items will be on sale online and in Uniqlo’s Singapore branches. Importantly, the clothes are suitable for hot weather with breathable headscarves and soft materials.
