Norine Farah: From Local Designer to New York Fashion Week

While we're still in awe from her breathtakingly gorgeous Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, we're hit once again by sneak peeks of Norine Farah's mesmerising FW16 collection, Oasis. The young designer and growing talent is to have her unique designs featured in Tiffany’s New York Fashion Week competition today, Monday September 14th, and ahead of her Big Apple debut, we got a chance to chat about her latest work.

"The Oasis collection is a mixture between the rich fabrics of the west and the wealthy culture of the east," reveals Farah. "The patterns are excellently cut with a clean finish, and the styling is very well designed, exceeding everything we've created before." The combinations of materials and prints elegantly connect the two different outlooks and cultures that seem to almost come from two different planets but work perfectly thanks to Farah's keen eye for cuts and pattern-cutting.

"The fabric we used for this Fall/Winter collection varies; we use material from wool for gowns to brocade patterns and everything in between," says the designer. "With this diversity, we fulfill our goal of making each piece memorable in its own way, with a new edge never seen before."

Norine Farah will be opening the show on Monday, stariting at 5:00 PM NYC time, meaning 11:00 PM in Cairo. "I am the only Egyptian and Arab, in fact, to be competing in the contest," Farah shares with us. And we can't wait to see her flaunt her artistic talent in front of the world, and make us even more proud, with her intricate designs catching the attention of fashion royalty.
