Local Label LK Lewis Channels Nature in Silver

Almost three decades ago, an Egyptian man and German woman had a fairytale meeting on the lush island of Jamaica, falling madly in love. The couple, Jaser and Kristen, moved to Munich and started a family, spending the last 30 years as a manager in logistics at international corporations and a social worker respectively. In 2019, Jaser and Kristen decided that the torch they carried in their hearts for jewellery and its intimacy deserved more acknowledgment, which led to the founding of LK Lewis.

“Our slogan is, ‘Jewellery is not an option, but a necessity’. This is more than just a place of work, it’s our place of wholeness, where we feel alive,” Jaser and Kristen tell SceneStyled. “We create jewellery in celebration of the elements that made us, and which connect us one to another, and in appreciation of our Egyptian roots.”

The founders’ love for their small family and jewellery both led to them naming their brand after their son, Leon Karim. Riveted by Egyptian culture and determined to keep its artisanal craftsmanship alive, they’ve ensured that their foray into jewellery design is not only extremely personal but that their designs are all handmade. “All of our designs are unique, like they’ve all been beaten, burnt, oxidised, and smoothed by nature,” the couple adds.

While their online store is based in Munich, they’ve recently launched a boutique store on Egypt’s North Coast, so you can shop their pieces in person at Bianchi.
