Elisa Sednaoui’s Funtasia Teams Up With Josefina to Make Ancient Egyptian Bags for Education

Elisa Sednaoui, the Italian-French-Egyptian model, actress and philanthropist behind Funtasia Education, has teamed up with Josefina to bring the Funtasia x Josefina collection into fruition, the proceeds of which will go towards supporting the educational organization.

Funtasia Education aims to create interdisciplinary educational programmes focused on competency development. The organization currently operates in Egypt and Italy, and is set to expand in Mexico and Morocco very soon. Since its launch in 2015, the initiative has been supported by the likes of Hend Sabri and Lara Scandar.

The collection is inspired by the ancient Egyptian deity Ra, god of the sun, represented through cat motifs and crocodile motifs.

The Funtasia x Josefina collection’s motifs were created by Brianda Fitz James Stuart, a pattern designer and illustrator, while the bags were created by Spanish artisans. Designed with practicality in mind, the internal compartments within the designs came in very handy, according to Sednaoui, after she had her second child. The collection was produced before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and is available at www.josefina.fr with free, worldwide shipping.
