CottonBall Catapults Us Back to Basics With Linen Collection

Cairo’s cult classic cotton connoisseurs are back with a summer drop, and this time they’re dipping their toes into lustrous linen waters. CottonBall’s summer’22 collection situates itself within the parameters of basics and comfortable attire, with meticulously crafted button-down shirts and shirt dresses that elegantly drape the body.

Whilst the collection strays away from its usual colourful cotton wear, the brand’s sentiments remain solidly woven into every garment. The men’s line features the eau-so-classic linen shirt except without an unsolicited logo marring its otherwise monochrome majesty.

Since late 2012, CottonBall has been reaping the benefits of a unique business model that allows them to harvest a haven in which they’re not constantly subjected to bulky logos and visually overwhelming graphic designs. “How was it that a plain T-shirt was at the time so hard to find?” the founders tell SceneStyled. “You’re either limited to cheap apparel that falls apart in less than three washes, or you’re forced to spend a fortune on high-end brands.”

Born out of a personal need to reify their own fashion desires alongside those of the industry’s, CEO Ahmed Habib and CCO Zena Sallam have taken to their entrepreneurial experiences and sketchbooks to found their own clothing brand - one that has bloomed steadily since then.
