It Took This Burger Joint '25 Rounds' of Trials to Exist

Everything at 25 Rounds is made by them from scratch including their special sauces and fresh fluffy burger buns which they bake themselves in-house.

Funnily enough, the following story never set out to start a food business. Not one bit. It started when a married couple stuck in quarantine at the start of the pandemic, faced with a choice: it was either they sit around feeling worried and scared or hit the kitchen to explore recipes they always wanted to try but never had the time to. They chose the latter, and from there it all started - their zealous pursuit of the perfect burger! With their founder, Mohamad Afifi, being an engineer they took a very practical and scientific approach. They did rounds and rounds of trials; testing everything from meat mixes, bun recipes, chicken breading, and sauce ingredients. Everything was measured, labelled and tested. Until they took a bite into one burger and they had an incredible moment.



“It took us 25 rounds of trials to finalise our menu,” says Co-Founder Salma Mohamed to SceneEats. “We even happened to concluded on the 25th day of the month! And that's where our name comes from. Today we joke that our food is ‘scientifically delicious’.”

The 25 Rounds is their signature burger and that's why it obvs carries brand name. Other fave items is their fried chicken seasoned with their secret chicken shake, and it's also available in the buffalo version for those who like a bit of heat.


25 Rounds are mainly sticking to being a cloud kitchen right now, but aim to meet their customers face to face in pop-up events. They currently only offer delivery and pickup services in New Cairo and Rehab City.
