Turkish Airlines to Begin Direct Flights to Luxor by 2019

Turkish Airlines has announced plans to start direct flights to Luxor, staring in October 2019. Tourism advisor to tourist companies in Luxor, Tharwat Al Ajami, confirmed the news by announcing that direct flights to, according to Egypt Today. 

At the moment, travelling from Turkey to Luxor require passengers to transit in Cairo International Airport first before taking an internal flight. The agreement with Turkish Airlines will start with four flight, before eventually increasing to eight by January 2020.

“We went on a number of tours in Luxor with the representative of the Turkish Airlines in Hurghada and someone from Istanbul also came over to Luxor where we held a series of meetings to study the tourism industry in Luxor and Aswan,” Al Ajami added.

Luxor and Aswan are both very popular tourist attractions within the country and the implementation of direct flights will be a good step towards improving tourism in Egypt as it will facilitate travel routes for tourists wishing to visit the destination, explains Ajami.
