Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Health to Link Up Electronically

The ministers of both Higher Education and Health held a meeting on Tuesday regarding a cooperation between both ministries to link university hospitals with those of the Health Ministry, according to Egypt Today.

Health Minister Hala Zayed discussed linking university hospitals and public hospitals electronically in order to benefit from special and experienced professors in university hospitals.

The two ministers came to an agreement regarding the new health insurance law – which states that “the government will fully cover the treatment of citizens who cannot afford it and will improve the quality of medical services in public hospitals by inspecting and supervising medical facilities”.

The two ministers also called for more backing on health research projects, and President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi is determined to make progress in the science and research fields, stating that “we need you [scientists], and Egypt is in need of your research to overcome problems.”

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghafar said that “the next period will witness positive cooperation to boost the health system,” thanks to a cooperation between both ministries which will improve hospital services to patients.

Head of the Parliament’s Health Affairs Committe MP Mohamed Al-Amari will review the newly appointed health minister's plans concerning health insurance and other issues that would develop the health system. Onwards and upwards.
