EgyptAir Hires Renowned Greek Chef to Overhaul Menus

Now seemingly catching up to the fact that in-flight meals still need to edible, EgyptAir has just announced plans to upgrade its kitchen by contracting renowned Greek chef, Vassilis Kardaris, to create a new menu for its flights, as well as the restaurants, cafes and VIP lounges it operates across Egyptian airports, reports Egypt Independent.

Kardaris has held a number of high-profile culinary positions in the hospitality industry, the last of which being the Executive Chef of a luxury resort in Lithuania. Prior to that, he served as the head chef for the German retail and tourism group, Rewe, which operates over 15K stores in Europe, in addition to other prestigious positions in Austria and the Gulf.

“We hope that the development advances to the extent that it maintains the company’s leadership in this field, upholding and applying all international standards according to global kitchen systems while meeting requirements for innovation and creativity in the meals provided to company customers either on its flights or in Egyptian airports," said EgyptAir Chairman Hesham Abdel-Hafez.
