5 Egyptians Named on Forbes' 'Arab Stars on the Global Stage' List

While Mo Salah has been taking a much-deserved vacation, the Egypt and Liverpool star's stock continues to rise, with the latest notch on his growing belt coming in the form Forbes' new Arab Stars on a the Global Stage.

The list, which is based on the Arab world's most influential figures from music, film, fashion and sport, ranks Arabs based on their influence in the international sphere, with Amr Waked ranking as the 2nd most influential Arab actor, behind Algerian actress Sofia Boutella. Lebanese designer Ellie Saab also makes the list as the most influential Arab designer, while Fayrouz was named an honorary all-time-favorite Arab singer title. The 2nd most influential singer named is Egypt's Tamer Hosny, while Amr Diab comes in 9th (guess that debate is now settled).

Meanwhile, Yomeddine director, Abu Bakr Shawky, has been named the 3rd most influential director on the list, following Lebanon's Nadine Labaky and Ziad Douerir.

Interestingly enough, Mo Salah was the only Arab athlete to make it on the list, which takes into consideration the athlete's appearances with non-Arab clubs, awards received in non-Arab leagues, the player's club’s strength, and endorsements from international brands. Way to go, Mo.
