Egypt to Sign Agreement with CNN to Promote Tourism

After Egypt was awarded the World Travel and Tourism Council's (WTTC) Global Champion Award in April of this year, the Ministry of Tourism has announced that it has signed an agreement with CNN that will see the global TV network promote Egyptian tourism, according to Egypt Today.

The announcement was made on Friday after Minister of Tourism, Rania Al-Mashat, presented Egypt as a good model for tourism revival during an emergency session on the touristic situation in Sri Lanka at the World Tourism Forum in Lucerne, Switzerland, following a series of terrorist attacks in the south Asian country.

The new partnership between Egypt and CNN comes as part of the country’s reform program of tourism sector, though details as to what the agreement will entail is yet to be disclosed. The agreement comes after Al-Mashat also signed a deal with acclaimed global travel platform, Beautiful Destinations, that will see it also promote tourism in Egypt.
