Zooba Lands Bon Appetit’s NYC100 List

You could say that Zooba is lucky to be on Bon Appetit’s NYC100 List. Or you could be like us and congratulate Bon Appetit for having Zooba bless its heavily vetted food recommendations list!

For one of the world’s biggest food magazines, it's clever to tailor your dining recommendations based on a specific situation, which is why their NYC100 list is one of the coolest restaurant lists we’ve ever seen. The list makes suggestions for where to eat and drink depending on whatever weird, unique scenario you find yourself in. Thinking of brunch, but also not really? A Japanese breakfast falls under their pick for The Place for the Opposite of Brunch. Craving anchovy first thing in the morning? They know a place for that too. Thank... goodness?

As of this week, Zooba has been newly added as its pick for "The Place for Off-the-Wall Design and Egyptian Comfort Food." Not a bad niche to fill. Much like our homebred branches, Bon Appetit praises the Egyptian fast-casual restaurant’s graphic murals which bring an oriental slice of Om El-Donia to New York. Go for its scenic ambiance and stay for the bessara dip, they say. We agree, Bon Appetit.

Zooba opened the doors of its first American branch in NYC last September, and it’s been leaving New Yorkers smitten and full of koshari ever since.

So, New York, if you're ever in the mood for a combination of Egyptian comfort food and off-the-wall design, Bon Appetit suggests ordering foul, zaatar fries, and pickled lemon taameya.
