Zamalek Ultras to Break Ban

Hardcore Zamalek fans, also known as the Ultra White Knights, are vowing to break the crowd ban in order to watch their team’s upcoming match against Wadi Degla for the Egypt Cup final.

The game will be taking place in Egypt's Red Sea Gouna resort and, despite the fact that the Egyptian Football Association have enforced an indefinite crowd ban after fans of Egypt's top teams clashed, resulting in deadly violence during regional and continental encounters, Ultras White Knights are still heading over there. These clashes resulted in a ban that has continued for two consecutive seasons, and it seems passionate football fans have had enough.

Fans' attendance at the Egypt Cup final is neither debatable nor negotiable. The Ultras White Knights will be on the battlefield. Whether you agree or not, the White crowd will be in Gouna,” their statement on Facebook read.

However, it seems like the longer footie fans identify themselves as being hardcore, the longer the ban will continue. It is understandable that Egyptian miss cheering on their local teams, but as long as a silly game fuels enough anger for people to kill, then it is safe to assume the ban will still continue. Having a football team is a luxury, not a right, and we should all have the right to watch are favourite without the right of life being endangered.
