UAE Charity to Build School for Vulnerable Communities in Matrouh

The Big Heart Foundation, a global humanitarian organisation based in the UAE, is partnering up with Egypt’s Misr El Kheir Foundation to build a primary school for vulnerable communities in the governorate of Matrouh.

With an investment of USD 607,000, the El-Nour Primary School will have 11 classrooms, a number of technology and science labs, a library, and a space for recreational activities. Amongst Egypt’s governorates, Matrouh has the highest dropout rate, with a  current overall illiteracy rate of 33%. Out of all the illiterate people living there, 65% of them are women.

The school looks to reverse these trends through high-quality education, with hopes of being fully constructed by September 2023.
