Today in Outbreaks: Corona-Detecting Devices and 26 Ad Hoc Hospitals

The Egyptian Ministry of Health is taking precautionary measures against the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

After 12 workers aboard a cruise ship heading from Luxor to Aswan have been diagnosed with the epidemic, the Egyptian Ministry of Health has reported the appointment of 26 ad hoc hospitals for the treatment and quarantine of Corona patients.

The hospitals are located all over the country on an almost hospital-per-governorate basis, and include the 15th of May Hospital in Cairo and the Agamy Hospital in Alexandria.

The Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, has also announced that on Tuesday, March 10th, the country will import 250,000 devices that will be able to diagnose Coronavirus in real time and distribute them across Egyptian airports. The devices are to be used after the detection of suspicious heat maps through thermal fever screening systems that use cameras to detect infrared energy.
