It's the biggest in the Middle East!
Oct 28, 2019
The Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt has produced a sign language dictionary and will distribute copies among all deaf and mute students across the country.
The dictionary, put together with the help of around 300 researchers and experts in sign language over the course of three years, is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East and the largest of its kind in word count, signs included.
A protocol to distribute the dictionaries to schools for the deaf and mute was also signed between the Diocese’s Bishop Stephanos and the Minister of Education Tarek Shawky.
