Swiss-Based Viking Cruises to Double its Cruise Ship Capacity in Egypt by 2020

The Swiss-based cruise giant Viking Cruises operates a fleet of cruise ships spanning every corner of the world, including the Caribbean, Europe, North and South Americas, Southeast Asia, Russia and China. It has been operating in Egypt through its Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary for a few years now, and has just announced its Viking Egypt 2020 program, which will see its cruise ship capacity in Egypt double by introducing the state-of-the-art long-ship, Viking Osiris, Luxury Travel Magazine reports.Built specifically for the Nile River, Viking Osiris - currently under construction - is inspired by the design of the award-winning Viking Longships, and is expected to debut in the Egyptian market by September 2020. Additionally, two new pre-cruise extension will be introduced to the itinerary, aiming at enriching guests' knowledge of Ancient Egypt's civilisation. Guests aboard Viking Cruises' ships in Egypt will be provided access to Oxford's archives and exhibits on Ancient Egypt, which are otherwise not accessible to the public.

The Long-ship will feature hosting capacity of over 80 guests across 40 rooms and suites, and will boast the brand's classic Scandinavian design, met with clean and elegant finishes.
