Sleepless in Safaga? Tom Hanks to Visit Egypt

Film buffs rejoice! Egypt has already been graced with the presence of Megan Fox and Shia Labeouf for their shoot of Transformers 2 and now an even bigger Hollywood hotshot is set to shoot in Egypt.

Academy Award winner Tom Hanks will be shooting scenes for his new movie A Hologram for the Kings in Egypt.

The movie, which is an adaptation of Dave Eggers’ novel, is about an American salesman who travels to Saudi Arabia in search of fortune. Hanks will be filming several scenes in Hurghada, some of which will be underwater at Egypt’s best diving locations. According to Ahram Online, the Ministry of Tourism has already confirmed Hanks’ visit to the Red Sea.

The movie will be released on November 15th but we’re still waiting on news as to when Tom Hanks will be setting his Oscar winning feet on the sandy beaches of Hurghada.
