Savour: The Middle East’s First Food Startup Accelerator Now Accepting Applications

The food sector is one of the fastest growing industries in the Middle East. Eating is a basic human need, but feeding people is a complex art and increasing numbers of young entrepreneurs are launching fledgling businesses to satisfy the growing demands of hungry customers.

Newly launched Savour Ventures is the Middle East’s first food sector accelerator programme and it will be accepting applications until July 22nd for an 8-week long residential accelerator, hosted in Kuwait. Relocation costs will be covered for the 10 teams accepted to the programme. Directed at early stage companies from any part of the food sector, from agricultural to packaged consumables and more, the programme aims to provide hands-on support and mentorship in an intensive regime culminating in a Demo Day with pitches to investors.

The accelerator will be hosted at Kuwait’s Sirdab Lab, a co-working space and entrepreneurial hub with networking and training services. In exchange for 15-20% equity, Savour will fund up to $50,000KD (about $165,000) in capital per team. Savour is powered by Creative Startups, an accelerator based in the US.

Applications close on July 22nd. Interested parties are invited to participate in a remote information session at 5:00 PM UTC+3 on Thursday, June 15th.
