Renewable Waste-to-Energy Project to Be Applied in Eight Governorates

As Egypt orients itself towards a greener, more sustainable future, it is launching the first phase of a handful of projects dedicated to generating renewable energy from waste. With investments totaling USD 350 million, these projects will be implemented across eight governorates.

“These projects will be a qualitative leap in the mechanisms of dealing with the waste problem,” Minister Fouad said.

Other environmental projects carried out across Egypt include coal mill projects and biogas projects, as well as an effort to redraw the boundaries of nature reserves to develop their surrounding areas without harming natural protectorates.
