Raya Abirached Appointed UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador for MENA Region

Television personality Raya Abirached of ‘Scoop with Raya’ fame has become the first Arab woman to be chosen as Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The Lebanese host has voiced her support for the UNHCR in the past through social media, and has gone on several field missions in Lebanon and Jordan. She has also helped UNHCR by hosting ‘Dafathon’, a fundraising event to help refugees heat their homes in the winter, and working with them during Ramadan campaigns through MBC Hope, an arm of MBC Group which broadcasts ‘Scoop with Raya’.
