Qalyubiya's Very First Girl's Football League

The competition between El-Oboor and El-Khanka’s women’s football teams was heated on Monday, February 24th, kicking off Qalyubiya’s first football league for schoolgirls.

The female power is huge with this one: Comprised of 12 girl’s football teams representing 12 of the governorate’s municipalities, the championship has them fiercely competing for the cup, with the finals to soon be held with the presence of parliament members, as well as leaders of the governorate and directorate.

In partnership with the Women’s Football Association, the Ministry of Education is currently on a mission to reinforce and help spread the sport’s popularity, especially within the context of athletic merit.
