Price of Schengen Visa to Increase by 33%

The EU Council has announced that Shengen Visa fees will increase from €60 to €80, starting from January 2020. For Egyptians, this means an increase from EGP 1,1140, to EGP  1,520.

Aside from the price increase, other changes are set to come into effect. The maximum period travelers can apply for will be increased from three to six months and applications have to be made no later than 15 days before a trip.

The changes are aimed at third-country nationals (travellers in transit and/or applying for visas in countries that are not of their origin) and are reportedly intended to “improve conditions for leg imitate travelers, as well as increase the tools available to respond to the challenges posted by illegal migration.”
