Pope Tawadros II Announces Coptic Christmas Mass Will Be Limited Due to Coronavirus

We've gone through our fair share of 2020 holidays, so we know how this goes by now. With Coronavirus staying over for Christmas, the Coptic mass won't be the big affair it typically is. Head of the Coptic Orthodox Church, Pope Tawadros II, will lead a mass with just a limited number of attending monks and bishops at the Monastery of Saint Bishoy in Wadi El Natrun. Similar restrictions have been announced at Coptic churches across Cairo and Alexandria after a second wave of the Coronavirus was announced by the Minister of Health. Each church will be limited to a maximum of 20 people, in addition to the priests running the church.

While people won't be able to attend mass in person, each church may be running their own livestream so that people will be able to watch the ceremony from home. Barring any further difficulties, CTV - the official channel of the Coptic Orthodox Church - is likely to stream the mass with Pope Tawadros on their own station as well as their YouTube channel, CTV Egypt.
