Pilgrims to Mecca Will Require COVID-19 Vaccine

For the upcoming Hajj season, pilgrims to Mecca will not be allowed to enter the holy city without a COVID-19 vaccination.

Saudi Arabia has announced that, during the upcoming Hajj season and Umrah trips for the Islamic year 1442, a COVID-19 vaccination will be required of everyone entering Mecca. The Saudi Ministry of Health is currently putting together a vaccination committee to oversee people entering the holy city.

Mecca is preparing to set up medical stations and designate entry points during the Hajj season, which runs from July 17th to July 22nd.
