Omar Samra Does it Again

"The First Egyptian to Ever..." is the standard prefix when it comes to talking about Omar Samra, and he's only gone and done it again. After months of training and planning, and a hell of a lot of time skiing, the Egyptian ambassador for all things extreme has become The First Egyptian to Ever ski to geographic South Pole, raising an Egyptian flag on one of the most uninhabitable destinations on earth on Sunday. In nine days, the adventurer skied and walked over 100KMs to reach the southern-most point on the globe, joining only a handful of intrepid explorers who have ever completed the grueling task.

in 2007, Omar Samra became The First Egyptian (and Arab) to Ever scale Mount Everest, while in 2013 he completed the 7 Summits Challenge, climbing the highest peaks on all continents. His latest achievement marks one step closer for Samra achieving the accolade of "Adventurer Grand Slam" which less than 40 people in history have ver achieved. Check out Omar Samra's column for CairoScene for wisdom from the man himself.
