No Building or Demolition Permits to be Issued for Old Cairo
In anticipation of new restorative measures in Old Cairo, the issuance of all construction and demolition permits in the area has been put on hold.

To preserve the architectural heritage of Old Cairo, Egypt has ordered a pause on the issuance of all new building and demolition permits for the area. The order was made by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, who cited the number of building violations in Old Cairo, and announced new developments to restore heritage buildings that are suffering from deterioration and are at risk of collapse.
