New Plant in Greater Cairo will Recycle Construction Waste

In the midst of a green wave that’s seen multiple waste recycling plants and renewable power plants built across the nation, Egypt is now establishing a new kind of recycling plant for construction waste in the Greater Cairo area.

For all construction work including road reparations, bridges, and the like being built in Cairo, the remains and demolition waste will be hauled out to the new plant. Many construction components are recyclable, including asphalt, concrete, wood, and rubble which can be transformed into aggregate products.

A municipal solid waste system for all governorates has also been announced, alongside an entirely new recycling system for the New Administrative Capital.
