New Museum for Women at New Administrative Capital

During the recent Egyptian Women’s and Mother’s Day celebration, President Sisi announced the establishment of a new museum dedicated to preserving the heritage of Egyptian women. From Hatshepsut and Cleopatra to Umm Kulthum and Huda Sha’arawi, this museum will honour the historical and contemporary women who shape Egypt. The National Council for Women has been tasked with building this cultural site in New Administrative Capital.

In additional remarks at the celebration, the president announced the allocation of EGP 10 billion to the Family Support Fund and the Elderly Fund, and instructed the government to provide financing for women to establish independent businesses and to review the mechanisms at work behind Egypt’s financial services to ensure that these resources and programs are accessible to women.
