Nelly Karim Makes Her Emirati Cinema Debut with New Film 'Tuesday 12'

Over the course of her diverse career,  Nelly Karim has stolen the hearts of Egyptian audiences and film buffs across the country with her undeniable talent and charm. Now audiences across the Emirates will have to watch out, as Egypt’s sweetheart is currently working on her first-ever role in an Emirati film with ‘Tuesday 12’, directed by Tunisian director Magdi Al Samiri. Nelly Karim will star alongside Syrian actor Bassem Yakhour, Lebanese actors Omar Mikati and Badi Abu-Shaqra, and Lebanese actress Joya Jabbour. The film is also young producer Siham El-Khazouz’s first project, with which she hopes to offer a new youth-focused direction on Emirati cinema.

The coming-of-age plot revolves around three 14 year-old girls – a pianist, an athlete and a dancer - who are all adamant on achieving their dreams despite resistance from society and - of course - their parents. The movie follows them on their journey as they overcome and conquer trials and tribulations that stand in their way.

The film’s release date has not yet been set, but is due for release soon, and is planned to participate in major festivals in the Arab world and across the globe, ahead of its cinematic release across the MENA region.
