NGO Yalla Kafala Hosts Adoption Open Day for Potential Parents

In celebration of National Kafala Month, Yalla Kafala is hosting an open day for potential parents on November 26th. In the presence of representatives from Al Azhar, visitors will be able to meet the kids and familiarise themselves with the entire process of Islamic adoption (aka, the Kafala system).

Founded by Youmna Dahroug, Yalla Kafala is an NGO that aims to demystify the skewed perception that still shapes the narrative of slamic adoption and bridge the gap between eager parents and children looking for them. While the most widely practiced form of kafala in Egypt is to financially sponsor an orphan while they live at an orphanage, Yalla Kafala hopes to encourage parents to give them a forever home.

The open day is just one of the ways Yalla Kafala hopes to do that, by giving kids and parents a chance to meet face-to-face. The event will be held at Notion International School from noon to 6pm. For more information, visit Yalla Kafala’s Facebook page.
