Ministry of Trade and Industry Issues a Ban on the Export of 18 Medical Products

The Trade Agreements Sector under the Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced a ban on exports of 18 different medical items, all serving a crucial role in the national fight against COVID-19, until June 17th 2020. This decision was made to ensure that an adequate supply of these items are available to protect Egyptians during the pandemic.

This announcement follows the ministry’s decision earlier this month to ban the export of all disinfectants and sanitizers for three months to supply the local market. Find the list of medical items banned for export below:

  • Wet wipes
  • Plastic medical waste bags 
  • Protective goggles
  • Body bags
  • Protective medical suits
  • Ethyl Alcohol
  • Chlorine
  • Wellington boots
  • Latex gloves
  • Sterilized gloves
  • Tongue depressors
  • All medical protective clothing
  • Protective masks
  • Bar soaps
  • Cream Soaps
  • Liquid Soaps
