Ministry of Health to Open Outpatient Clinics Starting Next Week

It's been easy to see the pandemic in terms of 'People with Corona' and 'People without Corona', but for those among us with chronic illnesses, visiting the hospital for regular checkups has come with an all-new laundry list of complications between the risk of contagion and the increased difficulty in reaching your doctor in the first place. To help alleviate these concerns, the Ministry of Health has decided to open outpatient clinics across Egypt starting next week.

These clinics will aim to help moderate patients who are more susceptible to the Coronavirus, such as those with high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, breathing issues and pregnant women. The clinics will be isolated from the remainder of their host hospital, with safe corridors blocked off for entry and exit to prevent accidental intermingling with internal hospital patients and staff.

For smaller villages that do not have a central hospital in their vicinity, the ministry will be launching medical convoys equipped with a pharmacy to dispense any necessary medications on the spot.
