Ministry of Environment Launches 'Live Green' Campaign Ahead of COP27

As climate change threatens to upend the Earth as we know it, the nations of the world are coming together at Sharm El Sheikh to revisit their pledges and discuss the future during the COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference this November.

A new campaign by Egypt’s Ministry of Environment paints an image of a not-so-distant future where the challenges of climate change have not been met, where the streets of Tahrir Square are blanketed in snow, the shores of Alexandria have flooded the city in its entirety, and the very food we eat has become extinct. And while life moves on, the narrator tells us the simple truth of the matter: This is not normal. It does not have to be this way. We can put our heads in the sand and adapt as best we could while our world deteriorates, or we can take action.

This campaign is part of the Ministry of Environment’s ongoing ‘Live Green’ initiative to help raise awareness of the climate change crisis. Launched in 2020, Live Green has been educating the public on what they can do to lessen the impact of climate change through online content and carefully curated guides, such as their ‘Green List’ of environmentally-friendly hotels and tourist destinations in cooperation with Eco Egypt Experiences.
