Ministry of Education Launches New App for Online Lessons

Our kids just started school again and everyone is already talking about a possible second wave of the Coronavirus. Some of us are still traumatised from the spring semester - the uncertainty, the confusion, the advanced arithmetic tutoring that we frankly aren't qualified to help with. But lessons have been learned, and not just in the Zoom classrooms. The Ministry of Education is launching a new app called ‘Madrasetna’ (Our School) to help keep our home education in check.

‘Madrasenta’ will allow Egyptian students to watch the same programmes being broadcast on the ministry’s satellite channel of the same name, which features video lessons 24/7 for students in the 4th, 5th and 6th years of primary school and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of middle school (otherwise known as preparatory school).

The application is available for Androids via Google Play at tinyurl.com/madrasetna and the ‘Madrasetna’ channel is available on Nilesat at a frequency of 12303 Horizontal (H) – coding factor: 27500.
