Ministry of Communications Offers Free Graphic Design Course

The Egyptian ICT sector is one of the fastest growing economic sectors thanks to a set of sweeping changes and increased investment including educational reform plans and access to cutting-edge technology and computing skills. Serving as the central vehicle in Egypt for bridging the knowledge gap between Egyptian professionals, local SMEs and the global economy, the e-Learning Competence Center (ELCC) is launching a free online five-day training programme on the standards of graphic design in January 2022.

The ‘Graphic Design Standards Training Program’ is targeting fresh grads from any college’s Faculty of Education’s EdTech Department, Faculty of Engineering’s Computer Department, or Faculty of Computers and Information. Their invitation also extends to e-content producers.

Founded in 2004 by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), the ELCC is at the cornerstone of Egypt’s technological boom, helping build the capacities of young Egyptian professionals by mobilizing resources and promoting equal opportunities of learning through a diverse array of virtual courses and e-content.

This comes amidst an increase in the funding of specialized training programmes offered by the ministry from EGP 50 million in 2018 to a budget of EGP 1.1 billion during 2021-2022. The information infrastructure and digital transformation sector has been the target of much investment, spearheading the development of the country’s technology implementing 12 projects at a cost EGP 3.5 billion.
