Military Factories to Produce 4.5 Million Reusable Masks Per Day

Military factories will produce a total of 4.5 million reusable masks per day to help keep the COVID-19 pandemic in control. Specific measures will be ensured – in coordination with the Ministry of Health – to select the fabric, thickness and overall quality of the masks so that they can remain effective without exceeding the cost of 5 EGP. These masks are also pretty economical, considering the fact that they can be washed and reused for up to a month. So if you’ve gotten into the habit of throwing masks on the street after one use, please stop.

Masks are now obligatory on all public transportation and governmental departments, and failure to wear one will result in a fine starting at EGP 300. And with the new law making masks mandatory in all public spaces after Eid, this push in production should ideally help keep everyone well-equipped.
