Khaled Eleish to Host Satirical Radio Show to Fight Misconceptions About Drug Addiction

As the great Mr Mackey once said, “Drugs are bad, hmkay?” But what about all that other stuff you’ve heard about drugs, like how they’re not so bad once you get to know them? Bringing the smackdown on common misconceptions about drug abuse is the Ministry of Social Solidarity, who have teamed up with actor and radio presenter Khaled Eleish to launch a satirical  radio show ‘El-Zohliqa’ (meaning ‘The Slide’). The show will be made under the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse headed by Minister Nevine Al-Kabbaj, and will air throughout the month of Ramadan.

Khaled Eleish will talk about the myths surrounding addiction and highlight the negative impacts of drug abuse. The programme will air at 2PM daily on radio channels Nile FM (FM 104.2), Shaabi FM (FM 95.0) and Radio El-Nile Mega FM (FM 92.7). You can also watch them in video form on the fund’s official Facebook page.

The initiative will shed light on the 16023 fund hotline which provides free drug addiction consultation sessions, as well as connecting people to different methods of confidential treatment completely free-of-charge.
