The Kafr el Sheikh governorate will soon open their first major oncology centre. The National Cancer Center costs EGP 1.2 billion to establish under the auspices of the Specialised Medical Council Authority of the Ministry of Health and Population, and includes seven floors with 67 rooms, various departments and clinics, and specialised laboratories and operating rooms.
Previously, patients would have had to travel to nearby governorates such as Gharbia or Cairo to seek treatment. Now, hundreds of patients can more conveniently access full, crucial serviced care within their own governorate.
